ViewTech Borescopes February 2020 New Video Borescope Clients Announced

TRAVERSE City, Mich. — With the use of video borescopes increasing as a form of predictive maintenance via remote visual inspections ViewTech Borescopes experienced yet another month of record-breaking borescope sales. ViewTech highlights the addition of two of their newest clients adding a VJ-3 video borescope to their inspection tool kit during February 2020: Canadian Nuclear Laboratories of Chalk River, Ontario and Aviation Consultants Inc “ACI” Jet of San Luis Obispo, California.

ViewTech Borescopes recent product announcement of the VJ-3 dual camera video borescope has already improved the inspection capabilities for many of their clients. By allowing the inspection area to be viewed with both a dual forward view and side view camera module, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories knew this unit could improve their tank and pipe inspections. With CNL’s current video borescope not providing adequate lighting, ViewTech recommended the VJ-3 dual camera.

By not only drastically improving the quality of their nuclear facility inspection photos, the VJ-3 dual camera would also decrease inspection times. After trying a hands-on, no-cost demo, Canadian Nuclear finalized the purchase of three 6.0mm VJ-3 dual camera video borescope units. With insertion tube lengths of 3.0, 5.0 and 8.0 meters, their VJ-3 dual camera will be able to complete any required facility inspection.

ACI Jet, a global aviation company based in central California, provides aircraft management, charter, maintenance and ground support services as a multi-base fleet operator. After meeting ViewTech at NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition and having previous exposure to the VJ-3 2.8mm unit, their Lead Avionics Technician took advantage of the opportunity to demo the VJ-3 3.9mm x 1.5-meter video borescope. With a required inspection on the calendar, a VJ-3 video borescope demo arrived ahead of schedule. After completing the inspection with quality images, along with simple photo and video documentation, the decision to purchase a video borescope from ViewTech was simple. The VJ-3 demo verified this video borescope could uphold ACI’s required safety and compliance requirements.

New Clients Include HAI HELI-Expo Attendee and a ViewTech Demo Experience

TRAVERSE City, Mich. – With a strong emphasis being placed on remote visual inspections (RVI) and nondestructive testing (NDT) throughout many industries, ViewTech Borescopes has started the year with a record number of sales and looks to continue the trend with another year-over-year sales increase.
ViewTech highlights the addition of two of their newest clients that kicked off 2020 by adding a VJ-3 video borescope to their inspection tool kit: Central Copters of Belgrade, Montana and MATCOR Metal Fabrication of Morton, Illinois.

ViewTech Borescopes supports the industries they serve by exhibiting at more than 20 trade shows annually. While attending HAI HELI-Expo 2020 in Anaheim, California, Central Copters owner, Mark Duffy, was able to see first-hand how the VJ-3 would perform better than their current borescope and upgraded by taking a new ViewTech borescope back to Montana. Central Copters operates out of Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport with a Kaman K-1200, Robinson R66, Euro Copter AS350B and Bell 214B1. Their fleet is available for real estate surveys, firefighting, charter and aerial tours. Central Copters has been the recipient of the Helicopter Association International Operator Safety Award for multiple years. They will continue to have exceptional safety and dependability with their fleet as they rely on the VJ-3 3.9mm x 1.5m mechanical articulating video borescope for turbine engine inspections.

With locations throughout Canada and the United States, MATCOR Metal Fabrication of Morton, Illinois had been utilizing a “smart phone” scope which wasn’t providing the performance they desired. ViewTech sent MATCOR’s Quality Manager a 6.0mm x 1.5m mechanical articulating video borescope to demo while completing corrosion and FOD inspections inside tanks ranging from 5 to 1,500 gallons. After completing several inspections, the improvement in the quality of their inspections became obvious and MATCOR made the decision to upgrade to a ViewTech VJ-3. Since bringing the VJ-3 mechanical articulating video borescope on site, MATCOR has utilized it with several other inspections throughout their facility.

Video Borescope New 4th Quarter Clients Announced by ViewTech Borescopes

Clients Include ViewTech’s First VJ-3 UV Borescope Customer

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – With companies becoming more aware of the benefits associated with using a video borescope for remote visual inspections (RVI) and nondestructive testing (NDT), ViewTech Borescopes has announced the addition of several new clients that utilize their VJ-3 articulating video borescope. With a strong emphasis being placed on RVI and NDT throughout Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Aviation, Automotive and Manufacturing industries, ViewTech reached a record number of sales to end 2019. A selection of ViewTech’s newest VJ-3 clients include AAR Aircraft Services, Apollo MedFlight, Greenville Electric Utility System and H&S Inspection Service, Inc.

ViewTech Borescopes has many clients throughout the aviation industry and now two AAR Aircraft Services locations are utilizing several VJ-3 6.0mm video borescopes. Kevin Scott, Manager of Tooling & GSE for AAR Aircraft Service’s Indianapolis location, stated the VJ-3 was “exactly what we’ve needed” when completing their aircraft pickle fork inspections. AAR provides world-class aviation inspections and services on a diverse range of aircraft platforms including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer.

Another new aviation client, Apollo MedFlight, now utilizes a VJ-3 3.9mm x 1.5-meter video borescope. Apollo MedFlight’s Director of Maintenance, Travis Lamance, had the opportunity to compare a ViewTech video borescope on demo, along with a competitor’s video borescope. After using the two different scopes side-by-side, ViewTech’s video borescope completed their inspections with positive feedback. Apollo MedFlight provides 24-hour emergency and non-emergency air medical transport throughout the world. The critical importance of gearbox, turbine and aircraft inspections requires tools and instruments that are up to the task, and Apollo Medflight feels confident that the VJ-3 meets the standard.

Greenville Electric Utility System (GEUS) experienced their first mechanical articulating video borescope when ViewTech’s 6.0mm x 5.0-meter no-cost demo arrived onsite for their Operations & Maintenance Planner, Jason Roberts. Having previously used more basic, non-articulating scopes, with the VJ-3 video borescope at their facility, GEUS noticed the difference immediately when completing heat exchanger and boiler tube inspections. GEUS, a community-owned public power and electric utility company, serves more than 14,000 electric customers in the Greenville, Texas area.

Michigan-based nondestructive testing contracting company, H&S Inspection Service, Inc. (HSI), was among the first to demo and take ownership of ViewTech Borescopes new VJ-3 Ultraviolet (UV) video borescope. The company had to previously decline certain NDT jobs due to not having a UV borescope at their facility. Matthew Virzi, President of HSI, was so impressed with ViewTech’s UV scope that it was purchased within days of arriving onsite. HSI was founded over 55 years ago and is geographically positioned to provide NDT and passivation services to manufacturers in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

Increasing demand for Remote Visual Inspection and Nondestructive Testing equipment sees client growth for ViewTech Borescopes

TRAVERSE City, Mich., Nov. 26, 2019 — With a wide variety of industries relying on video borescopes for their remote visual inspections (RVI) and nondestructive testing (NDT) needs, ViewTech Borescopes has announced the addition of several new clients that utilize their VJ-3 Articulating Video Borescope. With a strong emphasis being placed on RVI and NDT throughout Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Aviation, Automotive and Manufacturing industries, ViewTech is trending to double their 2019 video borescope sales year-over-year. Some of ViewTech’s newest VJ-3 clients include Minaki Aircraft Repair Services, Woodward Inc, Delta Faucet and Minnesota Jet.

ViewTech Borescopes has many clients throughout the aviation industry, and Larry Lencowski, Director of Maintenance at Minnesota Jet, had previously used a VJ-3 Video Borescope through another business aviation service. When the time came to purchase a new video borescope, Minnesota Jet was comparing ViewTech Borescopes 3.9mm x 1.5m video borescope with another manufacture’s scope that was more than double the price. With ViewTech Borescopes 12-month warranty, free loaner and lifetime service program, the peace of mind that the VJ-3 offered compared to the other video borescope made it an easy choice for Minnesota Jet.

Another new aviation client, Minaki Aircraft Repair Services, now utilizes their VJ-3 Video Borescope to drastically reduce major aviation inspection completion times. Having previously used many high-end borescopes, Ken Klein of Minaki stated that “for the money invested, the VJ-3 Video Borescope is the best tool in anyone’s shop.” Minaki, located 40 minutes north of Kenora, Ontario, owns several Cessna and de Haviland Aircraft and operates an aviation maintenance facility in Canada’s Western Ontario province.

Woodward Inc. has been an independent designer, manufacturer and service provider of energy control and optimization solutions for aerospace and industrial markets for more than 150 years. At their Zeeland, Michigan Combustion Test Facility, Seth Rutan, a Manufacturing Engineer, took advantage of ViewTech Borescopes no-cost demo program by having a VJ-3 2.8mm video borescope shipped to their location while a client was at their facility. The size of the 2.8mm x 1.0m VJ-3 was ideal for the inspection of the 3-D printed part, guaranteeing that the piece was clear of dust and debris.

Another of ViewTech’s newest VJ-3 Video Borescope clients, Delta Faucet’s Jackson, Tennessee production facility, needed a borescope that would articulate inside the bent section of a faucet. By demoing the 6.0mm x 1.5m VJ-3 Video Borescope before purchase, Ron Swaim, a Quality Engineer for Delta, was able to have the video borescope onsite to ensure that ViewTech’s VJ-3 could accomplish the task, which it did.
